Las Vegas

Las Vegas is the capital of gambling in the world which has been named “Sin City”. Most of the famous hotels are on the Las Vegas Strip which is seven kilometers long. The hotels are very big with huge lobbies. They have very beautiful decorations and the casinos are located in their lobbies.

Several hotels are connected to each other and tourists can go inside the lobby of all the hotels and casinos.
The Paris Hotel where I stayed is one of the most famous hotels in Las Vegas.
There is a replica of the Eiffel Tower in front of the hotel with one-third of the height compared to the original Eiffel Tower.
Visitors can buy tickets and climb to the top floor of this tower and view the whole city of Las Vegas.
Las Vegas has a population of 583,000 residents.
Each hotel has several amphitheatres and more than 80 shows are performed in Las Vegas each night.
Despite the fact that the nickname of this city is Sin City , most of the tourists who come to Las Vegas are families.
The Bellagio is one of the other famous hotels which hold a musical water dance every night.
Caesar’s Palace is one of the luxurious hotels that has a big lobby which has been designed like the Forum and palaces of Ancient Rome.
The Mirage Hotel resembles an open book and the Venetian Hotel has the most rooms in Vegas.
The exterior design of this hotel contains architectural styles like the Venice Douge Palace , the Rialto Bridge and the San Marco Bell Tower.
Visitors can see the big map of Venice on the wall just behind the reception area and a beautiful salon like the hall of the Vatican Museum.
They also can board gondolas and go and view inside and outside of the Venetian Hotel.
There are several free monorails to connect some hotels to each other.
I was in Las Vegas on New Year’s Eve of 2015
The police blocked the Las Vegas Strip a few hours before the coming of the new year.
People came out from the hotels and gathered together on this boulevard.
People were very happy. Some of them wore hats that bore the text , “Happy New Year”.
Some others wore sunglasses that had 2015 written on it.
When we approached the new year , people screamed , then counted down the seconds until midnight and as soon as the new year started , fire works were set off and people said congratulations to each other , returned to their hotels and continued celebrating the new year.
In contrast to most cities in the United States where many restaurants close at 9 P.M. , Las Vegas is awake until midnight.
